Professor Jo Ngu

Biography


Jo is a Professorial Research Fellow at Genetic Therapy Accelerator Centre at UCL QS Institute of Neurology. She trained as a paediatric neurologist at GOSH and undertook her MRC Doctoral fellowship developing Gene therapy for Dopamine Transporter Deficiency s completing her PhD in 2017. She undertook her post-doc developing translational CNS AAV gene therapies that have resulted in patents, licensing and international Orphan Drug Designation. Since 2023 Jo has led the Genetic Therapy Accelerator Centre AAV research program developing viral genetic therapies for neurological and neuromuscular disorders and is the lead for the IoN-DRI Genetic Therapy Platform.
